WHO WE ARE
Patriotism and veterans’ advocacy are so important to the American Legion Auxiliary that for nearly a century, we’ve been serving, educating and giving to America’s finest—our servicemen and women. We answer the call of “Service Not Self.” We are the nearly 800,000 wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, granddaughters, and descendants of veterans who served our great country during times of war. Some of us are veterans ourselves.
We are the American Legion Auxiliary, and we’re people who make a difference. You’ll find us in nearly 9,000 local communities in the USA and in seven foreign units across the world.
Founded in 1919 during the first National Convention of The American Legion, we have grown to be the world’s largest patriotic service organization, and we would love for you to be part of our mission outreach.
